Our analysis

AI-assisted

Multisite Post Reader is a WordPress plugin that enables you to display all posts from all sites within a multisite network using a shortcode. This functionality allows SuperAdmins and Admins to monitor and showcase posts across the entire multisite system, and it can also be used on standalone sites to display posts for visitors.

The plugin provides features such as clickable post titles, post dates, and a 'Read more' link for each post. Additionally, it can be implemented in a widget, with optional parameters to control the number of posts displayed and their length.

Best for: This plugin is suitable for SuperAdmins and Admins managing a multisite WordPress network.

What it does well

  • Displays posts from all sites in a multisite network
  • Includes clickable titles and post dates
  • Offers a 'Read more' link for each post
  • Can be used on standalone sites
  • Works in a widget with optional parameters

Where it falls short

  • Limited information on usage and configuration
  • Directory score indicates potential issues

Verdict

Multisite Post Reader provides a straightforward way to aggregate posts across a multisite setup, but users should consider the directory score when evaluating its reliability.

From the developer

Rick Hellewell's own description of Multisite Post Reader, lightly tidied.

Multisite Post Reader allows you to use a shortcode on a page/post to display all posts from all sites in a multisite system. This allows you (as the SuperAdmin on network sites, or Admin on non-network sites) to monitor all posts on your multi-site system. Although meant for multisite systems by creating a page/post on the ‘master’ site, it will also work on standalone sites. You could use it to display all posts for visitors. It will even work in a widget (although you would want to use some of the optional parameters to limit the post count and post length).

If you are the SuperAdmin of the multisite, an ‘edit’ link will be shown on each post; shift-click to open in a new window/tab.

A “Read more” link is provided for all posts.

Each post has a clickable title, and also shows the date of the post.
