Our analysis

AI-assisted

Open Graph Pro is a WordPress plugin that automatically adds Open Graph tags to your blog. It helps control how your posts and pages are displayed on Facebook and other social media platforms without requiring any configuration from you.

When your blog is liked or shared on Facebook, the plugin ensures that the appropriate images are shown, such as the header image or the featured image of a post. If no featured image is set, it will select the first image in the post, or default to the blog's header image if no images are available.

Best for: This plugin is suitable for bloggers who want to enhance their social media presence without additional setup.

What it does well

  • Automates the addition of Open Graph tags
  • No configuration needed
  • Displays appropriate images for shares on social media
  • Active installation count of 1,000

Where it falls short

  • Last updated in November 2017
  • Tested only up to WordPress 3.2.1
  • Directory score of 42/100 indicates potential issues

Verdict

Open Graph Pro provides a straightforward solution for managing Open Graph tags, but its outdated status may limit compatibility with newer WordPress versions.

From the developer

Martin Lormes's own description of Open Graph Pro, lightly tidied.

Automagically adds Open Graph tags to your blog. Control how your posts and pages are presented on Facebook and other social media sites. No configuration needed.

When someone likes or shares your blog on Facebook, your header image is shown. If someone likes or shares a post, the featured image (post thumbnail) is shown. If you haven’t selected a featured image, then the plugin looks for the first image inside the post. If there aren’t any images in your post, then your blog’s header image is shown.
