Our analysis

AI-assisted

PS Sub-pages is a WordPress plugin that adds a 'Sub Page' widget to your site. This widget lists all the pages that are children of the current page, providing an easy way to navigate related content. It includes options for displaying a title, custom text when there are no sub-pages, and the ability to hide the widget or show sibling pages when necessary.

This plugin is suitable for users who want to enhance their site's navigation by displaying hierarchical page relationships. It is designed to be lightweight and efficient, ensuring it does not slow down your site.

Best for: This plugin suits WordPress users looking to improve navigation on sites with hierarchical page structures.

What it does well

  • Lists child pages of the current page
  • Configurable options for display
  • Lightweight and efficient code

Where it falls short

  • Limited feature set
  • No updates since October 2013

Verdict

PS Sub-pages offers a straightforward solution for displaying sub-page navigation, but its limited features and lack of recent updates may be a consideration for some users.

From the developer

jeff.cave's own description of PS Sub-pages, lightly tidied.

This plugin provides a “Sub Page” widget. It lists all of the pages which are children of the current page. If there are no children, it will not display.

Options include:

  • title (obviously)
  • “No Sub-pages” text instead of blank (configurable)
  • hide widget when no sub-pages
  • show siblings when no sub-pages

While this is a small widget, I have attempted to make this as configurable as possible, with clean and efficient code (this is a small widget, and shouldn’t slow your site down).
