Adds 2 custom taxonomies (categories & areas served) to Pages for easy, dynamic archive listing.
Socius Marketing Page Taxonomy is a WordPress plugin that enables the creation of two custom taxonomies for categorising pages. It generates top-level archive pages named 'Categories' and 'Areas Served', which can be renamed as needed. Users can assign pages to these taxonomies via checkbox options in the Edit Page admin area.
The 'Custom Categories' taxonomy is designed for products or services, while the 'Areas Served' taxonomy allows for a hierarchical structure of US cities and states. This plugin is suitable for users looking to organise content pages effectively using custom taxonomies.
Best for: This plugin suits users who need to categorise content pages by products, services, or geographical locations.
What it does well
Where it falls short
Socius Marketing Page Taxonomy provides a straightforward solution for custom page organisation but lacks detailed feature information and support options.
sociusmarketing's own description of Socius Marketing Page Taxonomy, lightly tidied.
This plugin creates two taxonomies for categorizing pages, and their respective archives.
Upon activation, two pages are created that serve as the top-level archives. They are initially named ‘Categories’ and ‘Areas Served’, but may be updated to suit your needs. These pages will display a visual category selection that link to paginated listings of all the content pages associated with each taxonomy.
Pages can be easily assigned to the custom taxonomies by using the checkbox options added to the Edit Page admin area.
This taxonomy is intended for products or services, for example: “Bathrooms,” “Kitchens,” “Outdoor,” etc. All categories in this taxonomy will exist as top-level items (no parent/child relationships).
This taxonomy is intended to use US cities and states in parent/child relationships, for example: Texas > Dallas. Properly setting up these locations will allow the Areas Served archive page to create separate state pages with a sub-listing of all its cities.
